          Morphological assessment of the upper digestive tract is currently largely based on endoscopy. Barium contrast radiographic studies have become uncommon, making it harder to gain sufficient experience for high-quality interpretation. Radiological interest has been renewed through ultrasound, CT and, in some cases, MRI; therefore, endoluminal findings (radiological and endoscopic) must be systematically integrated to improve diagnostic quality and imaging effectiveness.<\/p>\n

          The first chapter presents the imaging techniques specifically used to explore the upper digestive tract, including indications and contraindications. For each organ (oesophagus, stomach and duodenum), the most appropriate imaging methods and image semiology are then reviewed. The main conditions are discussed in detail: tumours, inflammatory lesions, ulcer disease, and disorders of vascular or infectious origin.<\/p>\n

          Radiology trainees and specialists, as well as gastroenterologists and digestive surgeons, will find in this image-rich volume the key elements needed to refine their knowledge of upper digestive tract imaging.<\/p>\n
