The large maxillary sinus lift technique has become a routine, predictable and increasingly requested procedure due to the need to perform implant-prosthetic rehabilitations in patients with edentulism of the posterior maxillary sectors.
Pathological maxillary sinuses are frequently encountered; therefore, patients are often first treated for sinonasal disease and, after resolution of these conditions, undergo bone augmentation procedures of the maxillary sinuses with simultaneous or delayed placement of endosseous implants.
Experience gained over the last decade in resolving ventilation disorders associated with maxillary atrophies, together with advances in endoscopic sinonasal surgery and new graft biomaterials, has enabled the execution of this combined technique and the publication of this volume.
From the patient’s perspective, this surgical procedure is minimally invasive, rapid and respectful of biological principles; whereas in the past three separate surgical interventions were required, today the entire process can be performed in a single operation.
The book examines individual surgical techniques and then recommends therapeutic strategies according to clinical indications.
Special emphasis has been placed on iconography to facilitate understanding of surgical steps, even for those new to the discipline.
