This highly practical manual, intended for orthopaedic residents and nursing trainees, examines the preparation of the most commonly used surgical fields in orthopaedic and trauma surgery.

The authors aimed to fill a gap in the existing literature dedicated to the training of surgeons and operating theatre nursing staff. The clear and essential illustrations show the step-by-step preparation of the surgical field, following the procedures adopted at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute.

The accompanying commentary highlights the key phases, the most common errors, and possible solutions in setting up the surgical field.
