Atlante di Patologie delle Unghie e dei Capelli

Large-format volume (22 x 28 cm) comprising 250 pages with 315 full-color illustrations. Entirely printed in color on special paper and bound with a laminated full-color dust jacket.

When this project was undertaken, the aim was to produce an atlas-textbook on hair and nail disorders that could support dermatological practice, continuing medical education for specialists, and the clinical activity of physicians involved in the treatment of cutaneous appendage diseases.

The work is divided into four sections. The first outlines the fundamental principles of physiology and histology; the second illustrates diseases of the nail unit and pilosebaceous apparatus. Medical therapies and surgical treatments are described within the relevant chapters and in specific chapters of the third section, dedicated to cosmetic and ethnic topics.

The fourth section addresses special topics, including drug-induced alterations, aging, medico-legal aspects, and psychiatric issues related to nail and hair disorders.

Significant advances in therapy, physiopathology, and molecular biology of hair and nail diseases occurred during the preparation of this volume, and these innovations have been incorporated into the atlas. The authors believe that this work represents a comprehensive state-of-the-art reference at the beginning of the new millennium.
