Manuale di Tomografia Computerizzata – Approccio sistematico alla refertazione TC

Fourth Italian edition from the tenth German edition.

Large-format volume (22 × 30 cm), 232 pages, 1,300 images, printed in colour on matte coated paper and perfect-bound with laminated colour cover.

Computed tomography (CT) has become an integral and indispensable part of clinical diagnostics, allowing highly accurate answers to specific clinical questions in a short time. Recent technological advances provide submillimetre spatial resolution for CT angiography and, with dual-energy CT, also allow evaluation of tissue composition or, for example, renal stones. Above all, the development of PET/CT has led to tremendous progress in oncology, improving diagnostic accuracy in the assessment of metastases and tumour recurrence. Modern imaging techniques are often not taught adequately in clinical lectures and conferences for medical students, who therefore graduate with significant knowledge gaps in this field.

All these aspects and recent advances are addressed in this standard manual on CT diagnostics. It provides essential basic knowledge for beginners who are just becoming familiar with the field, while also serving advanced users with a special interest in radiology. It is hoped that the quiz sections, in particular, will inspire many readers to test and refine their diagnostic skills.

The successful history of 28 editions in 10 languages speaks for itself and demonstrates the wide acceptance of this book among German-speaking and international colleagues. I wish all readers great benefit, in terms of both learning and enjoyment, from using this teaching manual.
