Now in its third edition, Guida Ecografica – Atlante di Diagnostica Ecografica provides a complete and systematic overview of normal ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal and pelvic regions. It is an essential tool for locating and recognising organs, with clear anatomical landmarks and topographic relationships.
Thanks to its practical double-page layout, ultrasound images and corresponding drawings are arranged by organ and scanning plane in more than 300 pairings. Each set shows the position of the probe, the resulting sectional image, the anatomical structures and the exact location of the scan plane within the organ.
For this edition, four series of ultrasound images in the chapters on the gallbladder, spleen and kidneys have been revised and expanded. Chapter 10 (“Prostata”) and Chapter 11 (“Utero”) have been enlarged and now also include transrectal and transvaginal diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
The images in Chapter 10 were provided by Dr Harald Junius (Brunswick, Germany) and those in Chapter 11 by Dr Christian Schütte (Brunswick, Germany), to whom the author extends sincere thanks for their valuable contribution.
