Testo-Atlante di Anatomia Laparoscopica Tridimensionale
Large-format volume (22 x 28 cm), 76 pages, 3D figures, supplied with 3D glasses. Double language: the content is presented in both Italian and English within the same volume.
The introduction of three-dimensional technology in medicine, initially through ultrasound equipment and later with robotics and three-dimensional laparoscopy, has significantly accelerated the development of minimally invasive surgery.
Robotic surgery has established itself as an intuitive approach, making complex procedures feasible even for surgeons without extensive endoscopic training. Its advantages include non-mirrored hand movements, image magnification and three-dimensional visualization of the surgical field.
However, robotic surgery is currently burdened by high costs and longer setup times compared to laparoscopy. The advent of three-dimensional laparoscopes represents a balanced compromise between surgical facilitation, minimal invasiveness and acceptable costs.
The introduction of depth perception in laparoscopy enhances surgical anatomy, simplifies surgical maneuvers and reduces the learning curve. Depth of field allows more precise and intuitive movements, greatly facilitating suturing and knot tying.
Based on direct experience, working in three dimensions reduces the cognitive effort required to interpret two-dimensional planes and adapt hand movements to an unnatural visual environment.
As the reader turns the pages of this book, they can experience the sensation of operating in three dimensions: the gynecologist is immersed in a journey through the pelvis, achieving technical excellence in perfect continuity with the images.
