Atlante di Chirurgia Transvaginale

Large-format volume (22 × 28), 366 pages, 420 colour illustrations. Fully printed in four-colour process on special paper and bound in skivertex with gold and pastel embossing. CD-ROM included.

This book does not aim to describe every technique that can be performed via the vaginal route; rather, it presents a personal selection of surgical techniques. This new edition reflects the author’s experience gained after 6,000 reconstructive vaginal procedures.

Most chapters have been revised, with particular updates to the sections on surgery for incontinence, anterior vaginal wall and vaginal vault prolapse, fistulas, diverticula, and anatomy for vaginal surgery.

As in the first edition, chapters follow a simple structure: indications, diagnosis, surgical technique, and complications. Photographs and diagrams illustrate each surgical step. All photographs (for better or worse) were produced and developed personally by the author.

The most challenging and stimulating part of completing this second edition was preparing the included CD, featuring the most commonly used vaginal techniques. Again (for better or worse), the author handled the recording, editing, audio commentary, and titling personally. The CD is designed as a “live” step-by-step view of the surgical techniques.

Female pelvic reconstructive surgery is a broad and rapidly evolving field. Unable (and unwilling) to cover the entire domain, this atlas provides a concise, practical approach focused on the most common conditions encountered in vaginal reconstructive surgery. The aim is to offer a useful tool for clinical practice.
